RECENT WORK: U District Let’s Go! Branding

I have the pleasure of creatively collaborating with an impressive nonprofit in Seattle, WA: Transportation Choices Coalition.

A new endeavor, lead by the amazing program manager Miriam Castro, was developed in early 2018 to help give the U District residents, and their visitors, invaluable tools for transportation throughout their community.

We have been energetically creating everything needed for total accessibility to the U District. The program identity, website, mailers, posters and fliers are designed to establish a strong and consistent presence for the team to connect with everyone who needs information on travel by foot, bike, bus or vehicle.

All brand elements combine to help the program be accessible and friendly. Colors are brilliant and eye-catching. The well-loved UofW purple forms the foundation in the palette, with a high-key green and orange to help give an energetic tone to the brand tactics. A strong slab serif font brings readability to the overall styling—perfect for high visibility during community events and gatherings. Circular transportation icons and local imagery complete the look.

I’ve had the pleasure of designing creative tactics that don’t come along every day: coasters, glowing wrist bands, a folding community map, sandwich boards, bike signage, coffee cup sleeves and their website: udistrictgo.org.

Partnering with inspiring minds like Miriam, her advisors, and partners, has evolved a great concept into a vital tool in the community.
